Gandhian discourse on rational and spiritual has been a matter of fierce debate lately. Contemporary scholarship has struggled to conceive a logical connection between the philosophical, the ethical, and the political in Gandhi. The paper will be an attempt to revisit the same debate in the light of contemporary contestation vis-à-vis the question of rationality, spirituality, and its implications for the secular and immanent frame. It is also an attempt to connect the ‘political’, especially the discourse on nationalism within a Gandhian discourse, which is rooted not in the binary logic of reason versus faith or modernity versus tradition, but a creative synthesis embedded in an operative logic that is political as well as ethico-spiritual.
