Este trabajo aborda el problema la evolución de los adverbios y de las expresiones adverbiales que en español indican suma –concepto diferente al de adición– hasta que adquieren el estatus de marcadores del discurso. Aunque en todos los casos se comprueba la unidireccionalidad del cambio, cada uno de ellos presenta un origen, una cronología y una causación diferentes.This paper deals with the evolution of the Spanish adverbs and adverbial expressions that indicatesum –a concept different from that of addition– until they acquire the status of discourse markers.Although the unidirectionality of the changes is verified, each adverb and adverbial expression presents a different origin, chronology and causation
