Une quasi unanimite s'est faite sur 357 comme date de cette translation, sous Constance, en opposition aux sources qui la situent en 336, sous Constantin et en oubliant la tradition de Jean de Rhodes, dans sa Passio Artemii, qui, seul, a garde le recit authentique : en octobre 359, Constance ordonne a Artemius de transporter les reliques a Constantinople. La ceremonie n'a eu lieu que le 3 mars 360
