Our Women-In-Development Program . . . is trying to lay the groundwork to improve the lot of the average rural Ghanaian woman, who is often left out in the government's economicdevelopment programs. In addition, and more importantly, it is the hope of many well-meaning Ghanaians that the success of the program will help eradicate the debilitating image and unequal treatment of women as people who should only be mothers and nothing else
