Since its inception in 2013, the NoRCEL Institute has developed a structured and sustained programme of educational outreach aimed at strengthening astroscience capacity across the Global South. Transitioning from a scientific network into an independent institute, NoRCEL has engaged educators, students, and early-career researchers through school-level initiatives, university partnerships, and interdisciplinary collaborations spanning astrobiology, astrochemistry, and planetary science. Between 2015 and 2025, NoRCEL-led activities in Africa included teacher training in Ghana, intensive workshops in Zambia, and curriculum development in Nigeria, supporting over 200 individuals in their academic and professional growth. These efforts have led to measurable outcomes, including progression to undergraduate and postgraduate study, and the formation of astronomy clubs in Malawi and Zambia. NoRCEL's outreach aligns with eight United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on education, equality, innovation, and global partnerships. Operating across five continents, the Institute collaborates with organisations such as NASRDA, MEARIM, the University of Jordan, and the International Astronomical Union. Looking ahead, NoRCEL will launch a global online education programme in 2026 and implement a five-year outreach strategy to expand teacher training, student mentorship, and cross-continental collaboration. These initiatives position NoRCEL as a global convenor advancing astroscience education through inclusive, interdisciplinary, and sustainable engagement.
