The present text presents and discusses the results of researches on dynamics of youth subjectivation in Chile nowadays, oriented to describe the main changes in the field of youth festive leisure and the sociabilities built around it, with a preference for those developed after the military coup of 1973, especially for main findings on the current youth dynamics. By offering insight beyond the conventional areas of youth socialization such as family, school and work, we are focused on exploring their festive leisure interactions as a space of relative cultural autonomy where the daily construction of the symbolic youth world becomes more perceptible and expressive, as well as its accelerations, transitions and tensions as metaphors of social change. On the basis of an ethnographic and experiential methodology, centered on a case study of groups of middle class youngsters from Concepcin during 2014 and part of 2015, we assert that festive leisure is not only a space absorbed by consumption and fun but it also configures a space of mediation, "break", re-interpretation and management of parental, school and official order for many young people today
