This study examines the influence of macroeconomic conditions in the transport and logistics sectors on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) progress of eight Baltic Sea region countries in the EU from 2008–2022. Using a composite Sustainable Development Index, descriptive analysis, and fixed-effects regression, the study finds that GDP positively affects environmental outcomes (β = 3.80e-07, p < 0.0001). At the same time, unemployment negatively impacts social sustainability (β = –0.031, p = 0.0025). With an overall model fit of R2 = 0.77, the findings reveal regional disparities and underscore the need for coordinated policies to strengthen SDG implementation in the sector
