The pollen analysis from the cave of Gigny (French Jura) was carried out after sampling along the wall after an archaeological excavation. This exceptional assemblage shows how the vegetation evolved from the Riss glaciation to the cold Neowürm period. Several interstadials have been recognized in the course of a middle Palaeolithic with Mousterian industry and they have been compared with other European palynological results
