As part of a project aiming at prospecting and carrying out the inventory of pottery workshops, in particular the medieval workshops at Le Molay, both fieldwalking and magnetic surveys have been carried out. At the «Le Colombier » hamlet, a magnetic anomaly was investigated by a small test excavation which showed up the presence of an excavated cylindrical kiln situated on the edge of a sunken lane. The conception of the kiln and the waste found indicate that it was a lime kiln that was stacked from the higher level of the field and emptied from the lower level of the lane. The stratigraphical layers in which the kiln is built, and those that fill the kiln, enable us to date its construction to the end of the fifteenth or early sixteenth century A.D
