The tropical Indo-Pacific gobiid genus Bryaninops Smith is reviewed and the genus Tenacigobius Larson and Hoese included as a synonym.These small fishes are commensal chiefly on gorgonians and antipatharians.The three previously-known species, Bryaninops eryihrops (Jordan and Seale), B. ridens Smith and B. yongei (Cohen and Davis), are redescribed and figured.Six new species are described: B. amplus, B. dianneae, B
