Purpose . The concepts of digitalization of higher education in Russia are currently in the formative stages. The experience of its individual regions in this regard is of great interest. This article is devoted to the digitalization of the humanitarian sphere of higher education in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Results . It is shown that currently in the region, as part of the creation of a target model of the digital educational environment, active work is underway to digitalize cultural heritage. It is based on the regulatory framework for the preservation and popularization of various forms of tangible and intangible heritage, including through the use of digital and information technologies. They are actively used in archival, library and museum practices in Yakutia. In the field of higher humanitarian education in the republic, digitalization is the basis for the formation of practice-oriented learning programs. The leading universities – Arctic State University of Arts, Culture and Creative Industries, and Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University – have introduced specialties that generate knowledge and competencies that enable the development of cultural heritage using digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The new areas of higher school humanities training meet the challenges of developing the creative industries of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Conclusion . The effective implementation of research and educational projects focused on the preservation of cultural heritage using digitalization and artificial intelligence determines the current trends of socio-cultural modernization of Yakutia, related to the prospect of the formation of an information society
