The present study was undertaken with the objective to find out the extent of motivation and satisfaction of workers in relation to leadership techniques of management in tea gardens in Dibrugarh district of Assam. The tea sector is still one of the largest employment producers in Assam and an important part of the socio-economic fabric of the Brahmaputra Valley. Tea estate workers are economically significant yet they are often faced with challenges regarding salary, health facilities, working conditions and contact with management. The study is based on mixed method and quantitative research design having sample size of 300 respondents from the selected tea gardens of Dibrugarh region which comprises Mancotta Tea Estate, Jalan Tea Estate, Nahorhabi Tea Estate and Greenwood Tea Estate. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, interviews and field observations. Statistical Analysis: The statistical analysis such as mean analysis, correlation and percentage analysis was done in the SPSS manner for interpretation. The findings show that transformational and participative leadership styles favorably influence workers’ motivation and job satisfaction. Also, the study points out the relevance of welfare measures, communication and recognition in increasing productivity and dedication of the employees. Recommendations are made to tea garden management, policy makers and labour welfare organisations for the betterment of the workers’ satisfaction and sustainable industrial relations
