Les auteurs apportent une nouvelle contribution à la connaissance de cet habitat indigène, proche de Marseille grecque, par la présentation des résultats de leurs fouilles dans un secteur voisin de la fortification septentrionale. Plusieurs périodes chronologiques sont discernées, des années 560 à la fin du IIe s. av. J.-C. Pour chacune d'elles sont présentés les principaux aménagements architecturaux et les structures liées ainsi qu'un inventaire raisonné, quantifié et illustré du mobilier stratifié, essentiellement céramique. La fin du Ve s. et le début du IVe s. av. J.-C, périodes jusqu'alors très mal connues dans l'habitat, retiennent particulièrement l'attention
