The site of Castellar (Cadenet, 84) is known at least since the eighteenth century through the discoveries he has delivered, especially the gallo-greek and latin inscriptions. The site still stands today with its fortification. Excavations have begun in 2007 : the site is a roman sanctuary established on an ancient oppidum. These excavations were an opportunity to resume the study of older discoveries and question them in the light of new data ground and comparisons provided by other sites
