With regards to lumbar lordosis, then mean values were 30.52o ± 7.93o and 37.52o ± 9.32o, respectively (p<0.001). With regards to normality values, there was a greater percentage of hyperlordotic postures when executed the standing bilateral curl bar exercise (45%) respect to the standing position (10%). In conclusion, the recreational weight lifters showed a greater lumbar lordosis angle and a high frequency of hyperlordotic postures when executed the standing bilateral curl bar exercise. Is necessary to teach the recreational weight lifters to mantain a neutral thoracic and lumbar spine. Key words: spine, thoracic, lumbar, posture, weight training
