The files of the KOMINTERN in the Russian Center of Conser- vation and Study of the Documents on the Contemporary Histo- ry (CRCRHC) of Moscow, recently opened for scientific study, of- fer us documentary fundamental sources to understand the de- velopment of International Sports Red(IDR) as one of the auxiliary organizations of the mentioned KOMINTERN. The above-mentioned documentary sources have contributed new information and information on the creation in Spain in 1931, with the establishment of 2 a Republic, of the Cultural and Sports Labour Federation (FCDO), an organization that in 1934 adheres to the International Sports Red (IDR), and that is the embryo of the birth of the Catalan Committee for Popular Sports that would present the project of the Popular Olympics Games of Barcelona of 1936 as an alternative to the 1936 Olympics Games of Hitler's Berlin. On the other hand International Sports Red (IDR) created at the end of 1935 the International Committee for the defense of the Olympic Idea, whose aim was to coordinate the movements of op- position to the Games of Berlin. Also, the Cultural and Sports Labour Federation (FDCO) founded in 1936 the Spanish Commit- tee of Defense of the Olympic Spirit with the same purpose. The Popular Olympics Games of Barcelona of 1936 allowed, among other things, to express the new alliance between Com- munism and Olympics, built upon contradictory speeches rest- ing on universality, peace and the equality of races
