L’étude des cimetières et sépultures du monde romain souffre encore de la quasi-absence de travaux régionaux qui, seuls, permettront un jour d’élaborer de plus vastes synthèses et de mieux appréhender les relations entre le monde des vivants et celui des morts. Dans cet ouvrage, né d’une thèse de 3e cycle, l’auteur, se fondant sur un corpus et une analyse détaillée des tombes romaines de la péninsule armoricaine, s’est attaché à en explorer la structure et la nature et à montrer que, dans leur variété tant sociale que spatiale et temporelle, elles reflétaient fidèlement la diversité des civitates de l’Ouest gaulois
