This chapter provides an introduction to the relationships that connect music sustainability to human rights and social justice. It redress the imbalance by placing a degree of emphasis on the aspect of social justice known as future justice, which is concerned with the social implications for future generations of the choices of present generations. The chapter sustains diverse musical expressions may bring gains in human rights and social justice, both now and in future, and, conversely, how gains in human rights and social justice may support music sustainability. The relationships between music sustainability, human rights, and future justice in this context are complex.
