Hintikka was one of the most influential logicians and philosophers of our time.He published about 40 books, edited 20 volumes, and authored more than 300 scholarly articles in international journals or collections.He was one of the founding fathers of modern logic.His work on quantification theory and model sets in 1955 is now a standard reference, not least due to the completeness proofs of first-order logic that Hintikka developed in several directions
