This paper explores the concept of the psychological contract within the framework of transactional analysis (TA) and its portrayal in the organizational psychology literature. It posits two fundamental inquiries: First, how does the psychological contract align with the explicitness criterion, and second, if explicitness is not its hallmark, can it still be rightfully categorized as a contract? To address these questions, the author introduces an add-on to both the definition of the psychological contract and to Eric Berne’s classic game formula. She also provides a rationale and examples to illustrate its pertinence within the domain of organizational development
