Based on cooperative and parallel work they did with a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, the authors discuss three dimensions of the healing process: body, mind, and soul. Ruppert explores how the healing relationship develops when initiated with a focus on mental process. She also articulates a revision of game theory described as the game shield, in which the Persecutor/Rescuer/Victim (Drama) Triangle (Karpman, 1968) serves to protect the vulnerability of the wounded survivor. Ziff explores how the healing relationship develops when initiated with a focus on body process and describes the use of the game shield in clinical work
