When the coeditors of this theme issue of the Transactional Analysis Journal considered whom they wanted to invite to contribute, they decided that voices from outside the transactional analysis community would add richness and diversity of thought. As a result, Dr. Jack Drescher, the American psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, who has been practicing, supervising, teaching, writing, and advocating for his own LGBTIQ community for almost 40 years, was approached. He generously agreed to be interviewed by Brad McLean on themes associated with “Gender, Sexuality, and Identity.” This is an edited version of the interview, which was conducted by Skype on 30 October 2016
