The author of several books and articles on nuclear war and nuclear terrorism, he is closely involved with Israeli security issues, including service as Chairman of Project Daniel, a senior private advisory on nuclear matters to former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Professor Beres has worked closely with certain elements of the military and intelligence communities of both the United States and Israel. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Ariel Center for Policy Research, Israel
