The Covid-19 crisis has highlighted the importance of medical intelligence as a process of gathering and analysing information on global health issues. Understanding the health systems of countries, including their military health system, is one component of medical intelligence. This paper seeks to evaluate the range of information that can be found on international military health systems through open source searching. An internet search framework was developed and applied to two national case studies to identify likely sources, determine the volume and quality of information, and pinpoint information gaps. The composite of information from these sources shows the extent to which information on a military healthcare system can be compiled from publicly accessible sources from the internet. This methodology could be valuable as part of a medical intelligence process in order to analyse a country’s military health system for facilitating understanding and collaboration between nations
