A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the bridge of the Los Milagros aqueduct, which supplied the Lusitanian provincial capital of Augusta Emerita, is a landmark of Roman hydraulic engineering on the Iberian Peninsula. Despite the abundance of publications, none to date has dealt with this aqueduct in its entirety. The archaeological study proposed in this article is based on a renewed methodology using photogrammetric and topographic surveys with differential GPS and integrated in a GIS, as well as several campaigns of pedestrian surveys. It is complemented by a documentary study that is as exhaustive as possible, offering an analysis of the construction techniques, the levelling of the conduit from the catchment to the water tower-nymphaeum in the town, and a comparison of the aqueduct with other aqueducts in the Roman world
