Based on Adorno's impression and reference, this article wants to show what kind of insights he got from his reading of Améry's essay Die Tortur and what a detailed look on the constellation of the two writers reveals: the importance of the sufffering individual in Adorno's work, especially in his Negative Dialectics, and also that Améry is quite near to that what Adorno calls unregulated experience.All this shows that under the diffferences there is a deeper connection between Adorno and Améry.I.
