A la fin du XVIII e siecle, la communaute corporative est devenue une forme d'organisation sociale tres repandue entre les sujets ottomans dans les territoires urbains et ruraux des Balkans et de l'Anatolie. Neanmoins on connait encore peu de choses sur la premiere phase de l'evolution des communautes ottomanes. L'article essaie d'illustrer l'histoire des formations communales dans les Balkans du Sud grâce aux archives ottomanes a partir de l'exemple du district de Kara Ferye (Veria/Beroia en Grece du Nord) au XVII e siecle
