Resumo
The discoveries of fossil primate postcranial remains has led in recent years to somewhat greater weight being placed upon background studies of the postcranial skeleton of extant forms. Such researches are subject more than most to problems of determination of variation, of meagre materials, and of behavioral implications. Strictness in the formulation of hypotheses, originality in the approach to primary data, and the use of computational and mensurational methods in analysis and interpretation, suggest some of the ways of overcoming such difficulties.
