Determination of cranial capacity in fossil men

Resumo
The cranial capacity of a skull of unknown origin can be determined by assuming that the product of the chief dimensions corresponds to a part of the endocranial volume. We start with formulas for present day man and determine their validity for fossil man. The equivalence differs in fossil men according to their taxonomic position. This method is useful even for damaged skulls, with porion and basion missing.
