The present paper aims to show the views on sin according to some Isma‘ili works that I have analysed in my previous researches and that belong to the Qarmatian and Fatimid-Tayyibi traditions. The study will show that according to the Isma‘ili doctrine the problem of sin, which mainly concerns disobedience to God, also included any human act of rebellion against God’s Will, such as not recognizing the centrality of the imam’s function and the institution of the imamate
