An introduction is given to Klaus Holzkamp's notion of Critical Psychology as a science from the standpoint of the subject. A brief history of the idea is presented with a summary of its theoretical and methodological context. The crux of the matter is that the object of psychological science is no mere object but also a subject that acts on reasons and makes choices among real possibilities for action.
