The article presents the results of an empirical study aimed at identifying the group structure of young people depending on the perception of the phenomenon of patriotism. Using the theoretical provisions of the constructivist approach, according to which the phenomenon of patriotism is constituted in the process of interaction of social groups, the authors proposed using a multidimensional analysis to identify the distribution of young people into cluster groups reflecting a unique combination of patriotic attitudes and social ideas about patriotism. The materials of the author's sociological research carried out in March-April 2025 through a questionnaire were used as an empirical base. A total of 1062 students from Moscow universities participated in the study. As a result of the cluster analysis, three groups of students were identified depending on the manifestation of patriotic attitudes, which made it possible to reflect the internal heterogeneity of opinions, which was smoothed out by general group assessments. The first cluster contains respondents who are most patriotic, who recognize the importance of their participation in the history of the country's development, show a high level of social responsibility, and believe that the state should play a leading role in patriotic education. In the second cluster group, mixed attitudes are manifested, when recognition of the importance of socio-cultural attributes of patriotism does not so clearly reflect an understanding of one's own responsibility for the development of the country and its future prospects. The third cluster, the smallest, reflects a group that is problematic in terms of patriotic education, where alienation from a sense of attachment and belonging to the fate of the country, its future and cultural and historical continuity is manifested. In the context of the identified cluster segments, patriotic identity and attitudes towards the phenomenon of patriotism are analyzed. The data obtained made it possible not only to identify a latent group structure depending on a unique combination of views on the phenomenon of patriotism, but also to identify issues for further developments in this area
