After a brief joumey into fundamentally opposing epistemologies, two ‘distinct’ disciplines are extracted — Literature and Sociology. By examining recent statements/trends the suggestion is made that they are comparable and parallel in their traditions of theorizing about the world. By ‘quietening the mind’ the conceptual distinctiveness of unique forms of knowledge is lost and their boundaries become harmonized
