Research on liturgical objects, particularly processional crosses, is of special importance. It has shown that their purpose and function originated from the cult of the Holy Cross, as well as from the experience of processions and ritual circumambulations aimed at expanding ?new? spaces and forming a Christian sacred topography. Processional crosses, along with icons and other liturgical objects, constitute an essential part of Orthodox liturgical practice. This paper examines the role of one such cross discovered in the 1920s near the medieval town of Svrljig
