El Salvador has undergone a process of political transition that is clearly identifiable: the change in its party system, electoral system, and political regime. This transformation took place between 2018 and 2024 and can be described and explained using an agent/structure integrationist approach. The findings presented are partial and require further complementary work focused on other structural elements, on the morphogenesis of agency, dynamics, and causal mechanisms. The morphogenesis considered here consists of the transition from a polarized multiparty system to a hegemonic party system, the introduction of majoritarian biases in the electoral system, the suppression of the competitive nature of elections, and, consequently, the establishment of a regime of electoral autocracy
