The article deals with the concrete steps taken by the Serbian Government between 2001 and 2004 to address corruption‐related problems in Serbian society. Such measures have been numerous, and they reflect a genuine and energetic effort expended on the part of the policy makers to substantially reduce the rate of corruption, thus allowing for a smoother passage of society through the current transitional difficulties. However, there are methodological problems with some of the steps taken so far, which could be solved through an intensified training and a more comprehensive debate with experts and research institutions on the proposed policy platforms and legislative drafts
