This review explores the book that represents the life work of Italian Jungian analyst Paolo Aite, who for forty years has studied the linkage between sandplay and the narrative structure of analysis as it emerges in the interpersonal field. Aite closely examines moments of psychological transformation when the emotional body encounters the material world and images begin to emerge in the sand. With multiple clinical examples, he demonstrates the patience and imagination required to await the right timing and phrasing of verbal interpretation, which then may be woven into the fabric of a shared dialogue
