Introduction. This study analyzes the functioning of regional socio-economic systems in mountainous regions amid the transition to a knowledge-based economy and growing spatial, technological, and environmental challenges. The relevance of this work is determined by the need to develop scientifically sound approaches to managing such territories, as their natural and geographical specifics, infrastructural limitations, and socio - demographic vulnerability shape a unique development trajectory that requires the integration of innovative and intelligent tools. Within this context, the primary objective of the study is to develop a comprehensive conceptual and methodological model for the sustainable development of regional socio - economic systems in mountainous territories based on the integration of intelligent technologies, as well as to create tools for their assessment and subsequent modernization of regional policy. To achieve this goal, a wide range of methods was applied, including systemic, institutional, and spatial approaches, comparative and structural analysis methods, indicator modeling, correlation analysis, and modern methods for calculating integral indices - PCA, AHP, and DEA. The empirical basis of the study was official statistical data from the Russian Federation, reflecting the dynamics of economic, social, environmental, and innovative parameters, as well as international sources, allowing for comparative analysis and increasing the objectivity of the findings. Results. That study's results demonstrate that the resilience of mountain regions is determined by the interaction of three components - economic, social, and environmental - each of which exhibits heterogeneous dynamics. The economic component is characterized by steady growth, but in some cases is accompanied by increased pressure on natural resources; the social component is particularly sensitive to external shocks and employment volatility; and the environmental component often exhibits stagnation, indicating the need for a mechanism for restoring natural capital. Based on these observations, a conceptual model for integrating intelligent technologies has been developed. This model incorporates technological infrastructure, data and analytics, intelligent services and artificial intelligence, an innovation platform ecosystem, and an institutional and social layer, ensuring a comprehensive strengthening of the resilience of the regional system. The resulting methodological toolkit includes a system of indicators, procedures for data standardization and aggregation, integrated indices, and analytical visualization (heat maps, clustering), enabling the identification of structural gaps and development patterns. The results showed that smart technologies not only improve the accuracy of sustainability assessments but also create new opportunities for regional management, enabling the alignment of economic, social, and environmental goals. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the integration of smart technologies is a key factor in the sustainable development of mountain regions, as it contributes to improved governance, expanded innovative opportunities, reduced environmental risks, and the creation of conditions for long - term balanced growth. The obtained results can serve as a basis for improving strategic planning, developing regional programs, and implementing sustainability monitoring systems
