Artists Lizzie Meakin, Amy Nicholson and Suzy Gunn from Handmade Theatre, along with students from Nottingham Trent University, transformed the space under the stairwell of the Theatre Royal Nottingham in November 2022 with a bespoke heritage timeline mural. The artists used the collections and included a wide range of materials from the theatre’s history in their final design. The space now reflects the variety of different performances that have taken place over the last 160 years. This project was made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Nottingham Civic Society
