戦後日本では連合軍の占領を背景として進駐軍軍人・軍属と日本人女性の間に大量の子どもが出生し,彼ら「混血児」をいかに処遇すべきかという観点から「混血児問題」が顕在化した.先行研究では日本におけるレイシズムが顕現した事例として「混血児問題」が考察されてきた一方で,「混血児」に対する人種差別を問題として理解すること自体がいかにして(不)可能になっていたのかという点は見落とされてきた
