As one of the most agricultural area in France, the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region developed its agricultural press. It originated in Les Affiches, reviews and bulletins of learned societies but also in the agricultural pages of newspapers. The first agricultural periodicals were established in the 19th century and were part of the legacy of the political struggles of the Third Republic between Catholics and Republicans. After a period of apogee in the 20th century with the development of a specialised, technical press, it underwent a decline, following the decrease in the number of farmers and the difficulties of the press in general. But the abundance of press titles and the longevity of certain newspapers make it special, while the domination of the FNSEA’s Réussir group, which reached its peak in 2017, is in line with the trade union positions of farmers in this region since the 19th century
