Click to increase image sizeClick to decrease image sizeABSTRACTIn order to better situate the varied contributions which follow, the editor of this thematic issue will proceed to a critical analysis of the bearing of certain disciplines on the study of African education. Sociology, history, geography, economics, linguistics and pedagogy, psychology as well as anthropology, see their findings pan through the sieve of criticism which only attaches itself to the present limits in order to discern future paths. Without pretending to be exhaustive and limiting himself to the francophone sector which he knows best, the author will pose questions on the possibility of integrating these diverse approaches into a unified science of education
