The District Trade Development Officer gave me access to his files containing the yearly application forms for trade licenses. The following details were available: name of applicant(s), form of ownership, citizenship status of applicant(s), category of business, goods to be dealt in, and the year in which the business was first registered in Kitale. Further information was obtained from the Annual Reports of the District Trade Development Office, from interviews and observations
