Resumo
This article examines how biblical cosmology and narratives, particularly the story of the Tower of Babel, have been appropriated and reinterpreted in Brazilian political discourse and popular culture. It analyzes how these narratives are used to frame power dynamics, political projects, and national identity. The article focuses on the concept of "Brajisalem," a term used to describe Brazil as a chosen nation destined for greatness, and explores how this concept has been employed by different political actors across the ideological spectrum. By tracing the use of biblical imagery in Brazilian political imagination, the article sheds light on the complex relationship between religion, politics, and national identity in Brazil.
