This article focuses on the sacred oratorio Johannes-Passion, BWV 245, to explore how baroque music, especially Johann Sebastian Bach's Passions, aims to evoke collective emotions. The study highlights Bach's use of musical rhetoric to express affections in theological poetry, specifically the Doctrine of Affects. We analyze how Bach connects musical elements to specific emotional states, seeking to understand his stylistic pedagogical approach to transmitting faith by integrating music, biblical text and spiritual poetry. This perspective highlights this Baroque composer's unique ability to move between the dimensions of the sacred text and dramatic and emotional expression in music
