Resumo
This article introduces a special issue of Anthropological Forum dedicated to exploring the comparative possibilities between the East and West Indies. These two vast archipelagic regions, while geographically distant, share a history of European colonialism, plantation economies, and creole societies. The articles in this issue examine a range of topics, including cultural hybridity, postcolonial identities, and the dynamics of globalization, offering nuanced perspectives on the historical and contemporary connections between these two significant regions.
