The aging trend in China’s population has created greater disadvantages for female older adults compared to their male counterparts, particularly in terms of health and socio-economic status. The situation is especially challenging for rural older women, and their subjective well-being (SWB) needs attention and a thorough examination. To address this issue, we conducted an empirical analysis of the SWB of rural older women using a random sampling method. Additionally, we analyzed data obtained from a survey conducted in some rural areas of N City, Z Province, which had a high penetration rate of older adult education. Our findings suggest that there is a positive relationship between learning participation and SWB for rural older women. Learning can enrich the senior lives of rural older women. In order to further enhance the SWB of rural older women, efforts should be made to provide them with a good learning atmosphere, positive learning experiences, and abundant learning resources
