There has been a plethora of research on fatal suicide behavior. Previous examinations on suicide have examined social factors, such as the divorce rate, and economic factors, such as unemployment. However, many of the studies fail to acknowledge that different groups have differing access to the economy. Moreover, social factors will be experienced differently by different groups. The current analysis examines social and economic factors that are associated with suicide by gender and race for the 50 states in the United States from 2014 to 2019. The analysis demonstrates that females and males have different factors that are predictive of suicide. Furthermore, whites and nonwhites have different associations with suicide
