Abstract The very short commentary by Claudius of Turin on the Book of Ruth has been published in 1975 by Iain M. Douglas (Sacris Erudiri, vol. 22), and edited again in 2009 in the Sources Chrétiennes by Pierre Monat, who performed eight corrections on Douglas’ text. The present paper tries, on each point of disagreement, to choose between the two editions, or even to improve them, by going back to the manuscripts. Eventually the much debated question of which of Claudius' and Rabanus’ treatise preceded the other, is reconsidered in a way that does not exclude that Claudius knew Rabanus’ treatise
