Toponimi Sumenep Madura Dalam Perspektif Tradisi Lisan

The archipelago has thousands of valuable cultural narratives to be explored and preserved. Likewise with the issue of the sun kingdom which leads the world in the Sundanese Community. Likewise with the issue of the Madurese community. This study uses a qualitative-ethnographic design with a multi-interdisciplinary approach including mythology, toponymy, semiotics, ancient stone remains and evidence of languages that still live in society. Research data collection methods include (a) documentation method, (b) observation method, (c) in-depth interview method, and (d) focused discussion (FGD). Data were analyzed using the ethnographic analysis model of Spradley combined with an interactive flow model analysis. In a psychological perspective, the meaning of toponymy is related to the subconscious of society through the inheritance system from generation to generation. This subconscious collective memory becomes innate knowledge that tends to be instinctive. Collective memory is present through myths, language, toponymy, and others that will be used by researchers to find a picture of ancient Madura. The name Madura is symbolically related to the mythological Sun King. Madura linguistically is a combination of the words Manu Pandu Raya which means King of Light. Keywords: Toponymy, Madura, Mythology, Tourism Industry ABSTRAK Nusantara memiliki ribuan narasi budaya yang berharga untuk ditelusuri dan dilestarikan. Begitu pula dengan isu kerajaan Matahari yang memimpin dunia dalam komunitas Sunda). Begitu pula dengan isu komunitas Madura. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan kualitatif-etnografi dengan pendekatan multiinterdisipliner mencakup mitologi, toponimi, semiotika, tinggalan batu purba dan bukti kebahasaan yang masih hidup di masyarakat. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian mencakup (a) metode dokumentasi, (b) metode observasi, (c) metode wawancara bebas-mendalam, dan (d) diskusi terpumpun (FGD). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis etnografi model Spradley dipadukan dengan analisis model alir interaktif. Dalam perspektif psikologi pemaknaan toponimi terkait dengan alam bawah sadar masyarakat melalui sistem pewarisan dari generasi ke generasi. Memori kolektif bawah sadar tersebut menjadi pengetahuan bawaan yang cenderung instingtif. Memori kolektif hadir melalui mitos, bahasa, toponimi, dan lainnya yang akan digunakan peneliti untuk menemukan gambaran Madura purba. Nama Madura memiliki secara simbolik terkait dengan mitologis Raja Matahari. Madura secara linguistik merupakan gabungan kata Manu Pandu Raya yang berarti Raja Cahaya.
